A catch-all mailbox is one that captures all the emails sent to invalid email addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody misspells it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and in this way you’ll never miss emails because the other party has an outdated address or has made a typographical error. The drawback of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of junk emails, but this problem can be rectified using anti-spam filtering software. It’s also important to know that a mailbox with an active catch-all functionality cannot forward incoming email messages to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

In case you have a cloud hosting with us and you would like to activate the catch-all functionality for a particular e-mailbox that you’ve got in your hosting account, it’ll take literally just one mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to achieve this. A catch-all button is available to the right of each and every email address that you have created under any domain name registered in the account. You can select one address per domain by clicking the corresponding button. This will activate the feature straight away, so all emails sent to mistyped email addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking on the button once more will turn off the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got enabled email forwarding, our system will show a cautionary message and you won’t be able to activate the catch-all feature unless you delete the forwarding or you can simply pick a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The custom-developed Hepsia Control Panel that comes with every semi-dedicated server package that we are offering will permit you to create a catch-all e-mailbox effortlessly even if you don’t have much web/email hosting experience. All you have to do to accomplish that is click on the catch-all icon, which will be to the right of each email address that you’ve set up using your domains in the Control Panel’s Email Manager section. Since you can have just one mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will warn you if you’ve already set up another catch-all mailbox or if the one that you would like to use has email forwarding enabled. If you reach the decision that you do not need the feature any longer, you can disable it by clicking once again on the same icon. The Email Manager will also allow you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
